Monsters University

In this Pixar Prequel, we join a young Mike Wazowski on a school trip to the Monsters, Inc.
factory floor. Mike meets a Scarer who boasts about Monsters University being the best there is.Somehow, Mike manages to sneak past everyone into a live scare environment without being noticed.  Inspired by his new hero, Mike begins studying hard and makes his way into Monsters University, where he pursues  his ambition is to become a Scarer!

We quickly find out that Mike (Billy Crystal) and Sulley (John Goodman) weren't always inseparable. Sulley spends most of his time cruising along on the strength of his family name at the University while Mike spends every waking moment studying to be the best Scarer he can be. Scaring comes naturally to Sulley while Mike has to work twice as hard.

After being dropped from the Scarer program, Mike and Sulley are forced to work together in
fraternity of misfits (Oozma Kappa) in order to compete in the Scare Games to get their second chance at becoming Scarers! The plot had me immediately thinking of the classic “Revenge of the Nerds” series (yes this goes way back!) The group makes many mistakes along the way but eventually learn that they must work together if they want a fighting chance!

Monsters University deals with the reality of disappointment and the idea that sometimes you need to fail in order to find out what you were truly meant to do with your life. This is a great lesson that shows how things don't always go as planned and sometimes it works out for the better!

Immediately after watching this, my little one wanted to watch the original Monsters, Inc and even though it was past her bed time, I couldn't resist as I wanted to watch it too :) We give this family film a 5 out of 5!

Very Simple, Short, and Sweet Giveaway blog post!

In honour of hitting 500 @twitter followers, I thought I'd host my very own giveaway!  What to give away though?  Hmm, how about something near and dear to my heart!  COFFEE!!!  I love my morning XL coffee with an everything bagel & cream cheese, what's your poison?

Did you know that Timmies has a great promotion going on right now where you can buy any small specialty Latte, French Vanilla, or Cafe Mocha for only $1.00 (plus tx)?  What a great time to try all 3, if you haven't already!  I love their French Vanilla personally :)

Download the "Timmie Me" app on iTunes, BlackBerry App World, and/or Android Market to locate your nearest Timmies!  This comes in handy when you find yourself in the middle of nowhere, needing that caffeine fix!  Happened to us on a recent trip to Kitchener.  We were visiting some friends and wanted to bring over coffee and donuts in the morning.  We're so used to there being a Timmies on almost every other street in the GTA so we figured, we'd be able to find one in no time!  WRONG!  Drove around for quite a bit, until my beautiful wife reminded me that I had the "Timmie Me" app on my iPhone.
Opened up the app, hit the "Find a Restaurant" button and BAM in less the 5 minutes we were welcomed by a beautifully familiar "Tim Hortons, Always Fresh" sign!  Another great feature of this app is the "Order Notepad".  If your memory's as good as mine is (which it isn't!), this little added bonus will help you keep track of everything you shouldn't forget for your next order!   If you don't have it already, here's a handy link to grab the app for your smartphone:

Alright, so here's the part you've all been looking forward to!!!!
Only a few simple entries and you're in!  Good luck everyone!
a Rafflecopter giveaway

**Disclaimer** This is NOT a sponsored post.  I have not been paid for this post.  In fact, I don't even think Tim Hortons knows I exist (except for my local Timmie's staff, they know me very well! I always joke that I should own shares in Timmies with the amount of time and money I spend there monthly!).  This is just little old me doing a little old giveaway for some great coffee and goodies :)
