And A Murray #Netflixmas To You! #StreamTeam
I don't know where each and every one of you live, but in the GTA (Ontario) there has been very little snow. So little, in fact, that my grass is still glimmering green! To me, it doesn't really feel like Christmas without snow (I'll even settle for a light dusting). I find that snow just gives it that Christmas feeling (please tell me I'm not the only one!). Well, since I can't control the weather, I have to find some way of "amping" up that Christmas umph inside our home. I can't think of a better way than snuggling up with a warm cup of hot chocolate, with floating marshies, and watching some Christmas classics and newbies. This year, to-date I have watched Home Alone 1, 2, and 3 what feels at least like a thousand times! I even finally got around to watching the 4th for the first time, and to be honest, if you haven't seen it yet, you're not missing much.
This year, we've watched quite a few Christmas movies on Netflix already, and our family favourite so far has been Arthur Christmas. If you haven't seen this gem yet, I highly recommend it! Here's the Synopsis:
"Everyone knows that, each Christmas, Santa Claus delivers presents to every last child on Earth. What everyone doesn't know is that Santa accomplishes the feat with a very high-tech operation beneath the North Pole. But when the unthinkable happens, and Santa misses one child out of hundreds of millions, someone has to save the day. It's up to Arthur (James McAvoy), Santa's youngest son, to deliver a present to the forgotten tyke before Christmas morning dawns."
After we put our little one to sleep, we watched the new Netflix Christmas special "A Very Murray Christmas". With it's star-studded cast, we were laughing and singing our little hearts out all the way through. Although a little warning, it's definitely not for children as it has some adult language and content. Check out the trailer and tell me what you think!
This holiday season, Netflix has drummed up some great newbies and classics for young and old! Here are some recommended titles for your littles:
O.K., so here's the thing, I don't bake, but I do love me a good shortbread cookie. I've tried, and failed, and tried, and failed again. I've given in to the baking gods and now buy all of my shortbread cookies. For the amount of time, money, and stress that ruining them has cost me, I'd rather spend an extra dollar or two and just buy the darn things! It's a win-win for everyone; I don't stress, and the cookies are delish. Do you have a winning cookie recipe, that's fool-proof (that's what I'm looking for!)? I'd love it if you shared your best shortbread, or any cookie recipe for that matter in the comments below (or a link to one if that's easier). I wonder if this is the year that I finally get it right, LOL! For now I guess I'll just settle on letting our little princess decorate some pre-baked gingerbread cookies ;)
'Tis the season of giving and the wonderful folks over at Netflix have given me not one, but two (that's right, TWO) 6-month Netflix memberships. As an added bonus, if you already have a memebership and win one of these #Netflixmas gifts, you can add it to extend your membership! So good luck to one and all, and may you all have a wonderful and safe Christmas!
